Pinewood Classic from Downtown Devil on Vimeo.
Dozens of adults cheered and laughed like children as small race cars shot down the wooden track at the Pinewood Classic on Saturday at Short Leash Hot Dogs.
Handmade miniature cars with intricate designs ranging from a moon rover to Donald Trump’s hair jostled for first place as their owners watched with tense expressions.
More than 50 cars were registered in the race and each car had to compete in a double-elimination tournament to claim victory. Car owners who spent hours designing these mini-derby cars watched them win or lose in a matter of seconds.
At stake was a new mattress from Tuft and Needle and the bragging rights to call yourself the third-annual Pinewood Classic champion.
